Secret Keepers by Makayla

1 | 2 | 3 | 4

Crystal closes the back door quietly so her little sister, Trinity, doesn’t wake up. After her wet rain coat and boots are put away she finds the lights turned off but doesn’t think anything of it, until dark figures in the shadows start to move and mumble. Their deep voices make her shudder; her knees start to wobble as she tries to find some courage in her not so courageous body. “ Who’s there,” she asks in an unsteady voice. No one answered. “The girl, she has already found out,” “ Secrets have been told,” the dark figures mumble as they silently slid under the window. She turns and sprints up to Trinity’s room scared to death something has happened to her but she is still sleeping like a rock in her pink flowered bed.

Crystal stays in Trinity’s room while she sleeps. When Trinity wakes, she has terror in her eyes. “What’s wrong,” Crystal asks in a worried tone. As Trinity describes what her nightmare was about, Crystal realizes that her nightmare was the exact same as what just happened all the way down to what Crystal was wearing, blue jeans and a lime green t-shirt. The one thing that caught her off guard was that the figures were called secret keepers. Crystal doesn’t dare say what she just realized.
